Personal Blog 1: Temple Square Lights
by: Lauren Walker

Last Friday, a group of friends and I took the Trax to Temple Square to see the lights. Even though I've lived in Utah for a little over a year I had not had the opportunity to see the lights last year or even ever visit Temple Square or downtown Utah.

The lights inside the courtyard of the Temple were very elaborate and breath taking. Most of the trees, plants, and buildings surrounding/near the Temple were covered with various colors and designs created using the lights.

Temple Square was filled to the brim with families with small children, teenagers, and the elderly. Even though it was pretty cold outside, as it was around 7 pm, every visitor seemed to have a really good time. There were hot chocolate vendors and other various food items, and even a bagpipe player played a couple of songs as we were exiting the gate.
Being able to take part seeing the lights at Temple Square was very cool and I would love to do it again next year. The environment around the Temple is very welcoming. Even if your not LDS, I believe that everyone should witness the spectacular and amazing lights that are around the Temple.
